Freezing Fog

We woke up to a foggy morning on Thursday. When the fog cleared away, there were ice crystals covering the branches of the trees. These are a pictures of the line of trees behind our house. It was beautiful and sparkling with every branch encrusted with white ice. The white lacey branches looked so startling against the blue sky.

One of Mark's coworkers told us that we had an "ice fog". I had never heard of this (or seen it), so I did my research to find out that we had a "freezing fog" instead. An ice fog occurs only in the artic regions. Here's an article describing all the different types of fog.
